Back to the projects : I am finishing "Essie" the 8/4 rocker redesign.  This has taken a lot of work because of the lack of headrest depth. I refused to laminate the headrest and what it got me was a spindle side profile redesign along with the back legs, arms and headrest. It's all almost brand new! These notches are closed on 3 sides and have saw blade ridges on the bottom that can't be cleaned up with a router plane due to their depth and because of stubborn end grain. After spending too much time removing the ridges with hand tools I decided to try a Forrest 1/4 or 3/8" Finger Joint Set (Yeah, Yeah! I know it's really a dado set.) Very good results so far. It may become a favorite if it gives me a contollable cut and a flat bottom.
