A Little Bit About Me...

Thanks for viewing my work and sharing my passion for the joys of designing and crafting functional wood forms. I have been building fine furniture since 1979. My work includes reproduction and contemporary tables, chairs, beds and chests.I have crafted over 200 furniture commissions for clients who have become friends. I have also found great joy in teaching others the skills of creating in wood. My work is greatly inspired of by Sam Maloof the icon of modern woodworking. When I teach the Maloof Inspired Rocker class at Highland Woodworking his pictures are all over the walls of the classroom, a room in which he regularly taught. It feels like he is there with me guiding me along.

My thirty years of experience as an educator (B.S.; M.Ed.; Sp.Ed.) has prepared me to communicate and teach the joys of furniture making to new generations of woodworkers. Teaching woodworking pulls upon all my life experiences as a teacher, woodworker and entertainer, so that I can connect with students who dream of their house full of handcrafted furniture or the opportunity to be a professional.

When not working wood I enjoy spending time with my wife (Sheila) and daughters (Keri and Emily) son-in-law (Stephen) and grandaughter (Ava). My hobbies include playing drums, guitar and dobro.
